RHODES

Rhodes

The largest of the Dodecanese islands, Rhodes, also known as the Knights’ island, has a rich historical past, which you can tell by its ancient buildings and monuments.

The picturesque old town of Rhodes is a mixture of Medieval, Ottoman and Greek influence and wandering through its narrow alleys will take you back in time. In fact, the Old Town of Rhodes, is the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe. Strong walls and stone-paved alleys with elegant mansions and a medieval castle, create the illusion that you are into a medieval fairytale. The Old Town of Rhodes with the majestic Palace of the Grand Masters conveys, the Street of the Knights, the old port of Mandraki and Hippocrates Square, are the most important spots to visit on the island. Drive around the island to reach even more sites, such as the Acropolis of Lindos, the Monastery of Filerimos, the Springs of Kallithea and various castles all over the island.

Rhodes is one of the most visited islands in Greece. It offers an abundance of beautiful island beaches, nightlife, culture and history, along with the warm hospitality generously offered by the locals, which has drawn travelers here for centuries. Rhodes has a famously vibrant nightlife, with countless bars, pubs and clubs in Rhodes Town, Faliraki and Trianta, while the harbor is also full of bars, tavernas and all kinds of restaurants.

Lindos & Rhodes’ Beaches
Rhodes is well known for its endless sandy beaches on the east coast of the island, covering more than 80 kilometers of seaside. Resorts such as Faliraki and Kolymbia, occupy the northern part of this coast, while on the east coast of Rhodes, you will find Lindos with its whitewashed houses, ambling donkeys and car-free cobbled streets. Lindos is known for its clifftop acropolis, which features monumental 4th-century gates and reliefs from about 280 B.C.
